Major - Little League Baseball
Ages 10-12
The focus at the Majors level is for kids to experience competitive little league baseball in a positive and encouraging environment. Pitchers will pitch from the mound with regular strike counts. Little league rules apply to pitch counts to ensure player health & safety.
Participation in the Majors division requires preliminary evaluation by FPESLL coaches.
The schedule consists of 2-3 games per week and 1-2 practices per week to be scheduled around game schedules. Practices are held at our Gano Street field.
Majors division plays an interleague schedule against teams from Rumford, Riverside and East Providence Central Little Leagues. Home games are played at our Gano Street field. Away games are played at various fields in East Providence.
Equipment requirements are minimal and generally consist of a baseball glove and cleats.
Each player receives a team hat, jersey, baseball pants and a belt.
- Season begins in early April and finishes early June
- Opportunity to participate in Summer All Star tournament for top players in the division (July).
- Team that finishes first in the Division will represent the league in the Annual Mayor's Cup Tournament (held in August) hosted by the Providence Department of Parks and Recreation.
