Suggested Age and Grade ranges overlap. Children who are new to baseball should start at the lower level, while those who are experienced can move up earlier.
TEE BALL DIVISION
Ages 4–6 (Pre-K to Kindergarten)
Director of Tee-Ball – Mike Sawyers
- Tee-Ball is often a family’s first introduction to Little League®. The focus is fun, fitness, and fundamentals while building a child’s love for the game.
- The schedule consists of one hour practice per week at our Sessions Street field, on Saturday or Sunday mornings, and one weeknight game at 5:30.
- Equipment requirements are minimal and generally consist of a baseball glove.
- Each player receives a team hat and jersey.
- Season begins in late April and finishes early June.
AA COACH PITCH DIVISION
Ages 6–8 (Kindergarten to 2nd grade)
Director of AA Baseball – TJ DiSanto
- The primary focus for the AA division age group (6–8) is skill development in throwing, catching, hitting, and fielding. Coaches pitch to players in this division.
- Team building, sportsmanship, and fun are emphasized. A high level of repetitions in each skill is the goal of each practice.
- The schedule consists of one practice per week at Sessions Street fields, with two 1-hour games per week on weeknights at 5:30pm.
- Equipment requirements are minimal and generally consist of a baseball glove.
- Each player receives a team hat, jersey, and baseball pants.
- Season begins in late April and finishes early June.
AAA PLAYER PITCH DIVISION
Ages 8–10 (2nd to 4th grade)
Director of AAA Baseball – Jason Engle
- The focus at the AAA level is for kids to experience competitive Little League baseball in a positive and encouraging environment. Pitchers throw from the mound with regular strike counts. Little League pitch count rules apply.
- Stealing is introduced at the AAA level.
- The schedule consists of 1–2 games per week and 1–2 practices per week. Practices are held at our Gano Street field.
- Interleague play includes Rumford, Riverside/East Providence, and Darlington American Little Leagues.
- Equipment needs: baseball glove and cleats.
- Each player receives a team hat, jersey, and baseball pants.
- Season begins in early April and finishes early June.
- Opportunity for a Summer All-Star tournament (July).
MAJORS DIVISION
Ages 10–12 (4th to 6th grade)
Director of Majors Baseball – Erik Andersen
- The focus at the Majors level is competitive Little League baseball in a positive and encouraging environment. Pitchers throw from the mound with standard strike counts. Little League pitch count rules apply.
- Participation in Majors requires evaluation by FPESLL coaches.
- The schedule includes 2–3 games per week and 1–2 practices per week at Gano Street field.
- Interleague play includes Rumford, Riverside, and East Providence Central Little Leagues.
- Equipment needs: baseball glove and cleats.
- Each player receives a team hat, jersey, baseball pants, and belt.
- Season begins in early April and finishes early June.
- Opportunity for Summer All-Star tournament (July).
- Division champion represents the league in the Annual Mayor's Cup Tournament (August).
